Shoe Care at Home

If you take good care of your shoes, they'll take good care of you. Here are some top tips from our Master Cobbler, Mario.

Condition and Polish Leather

Condition every 1–3 months (depending on wear) to prevent drying and cracking.

 

Polish regularly to maintain color and shine — ensure polish  matches  shoe color.

Store Them Properly

Use shoe trees or stuff them with paper to hold shape.

Keep in a dust bag or box if you're not wearing them for a while.

​

Avoid storing in damp or hot places.

Let Them Breathe

Don't wear the same pair two days in a row. Alternate to allow shoes to dry out.

Use cedar shoe trees to absorb moisture and keep shape.

Repair Before It's Too Late

Replace soles and heels early — waiting too long can make the shoe unrepairable.

Fix small damage quickly (stitching, loose eyelets, etc.).

​

Visit a cobbler regularly — a good one can keep your shoes alive for years.

Protect Against Water & Weather

Apply a waterproof spray (especially for suede, nubuck, or fabric).

Avoid heavy rain or snow when wearing leather soles or unprotected suede.​

Use the Right Tools

Leather: Clean → Condition → Polish → Protect.

​

Suede/Nubuck: Brush → Erase marks → Spray protector.

​

Fabric: Spot clean → Dry → Spray with fabric protector.
